Carols & Markets

A crowd of 1,700 people flocked to the Minda BankSA Christmas Carols and Markets event held on the lawns at Minda Brighton on Saturday December 8.

Headlining the event were popular Australian singer-songwriters Rachael Leahcar and Joe Braithwaite.

Joe entertained the crowd with songs including ‘Last Christmas’ and ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’, as well as performing an original new song he wrote in the lead-up to the event.

Rachael closed the evening with some Christmas favourites including ‘Silent Night’, ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Away in a Manger’.

Other popular entertainment on the day included Sisters of Abundance, AIDA Bharatanatyaved Dancers, Adelaide Pipe Band, Precizion Dance, Sisters of Invention, the 10/27th Battalion Royal

South Australia Regiment Band, and our very own R-U Serious.

We were delighted to have radio broadcaster David Sabine and Minda Ambassador, Katrina Webb, as our MCs, while President of the Minda Board Susan Neuhaus welcomed everyone to the event.

Everyone enjoyed entertainment on stage as well as the carnival atmosphere with 42 market stalls, 11 different food vendors, rides, amusements, bumper cars, a climbing wall, petting zoo and jumping castle.

The party continued after the event concluded at 7pm, with the After Party kicking off at Inclusive Café where everyone enjoyed live music and yiros plates into the evening.

A big thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who helped make the event such a success.
